Miami sweeps series with BGSU

OXFORD, Ohio - Two goals in both the first and second periods helped lead Miami to a 4-2 victory last night over Bowling Green as the RedHawks captured the Central Collegiate Hockey Association second-round series.

The victory gives the RedHawks (31-6-1) a two-game series sweep. They advance to Detroit's Joe Louis Arena for the CCHA semifinals.

Sophomore forward Tommy Dee scored a goal for the Falcons (18-21) in the first period. Junior forward Brandon Svendsen scored in the third period.

BG freshman goaltender Nick Eno made 18 saves. Miami's Jeff Zatkoff had 41. The Falcons held a 43-22 edge in shots on net.

It was the most wins in a season for BG since 1995-96 when it finished 26-14-1.
