BGSU over Fordham 65-59

BOWLING GREEN Nate Miller had 17 points off the bench, all of Brian Moten s 13 points came in the second half, and Bowling Green State University survived a sluggish first half to clip Fordham 65-59 on Saturday.

The Falcons (7-6) remained perfect at Anderson Arena and have a week off before opening MAC play at home against Buffalo next Saturday.

BGSU trailed by as many as six in the first half and was behind 32-29 at the break to Fordham, which entered the contest 2-9 overall and 0-3 on the road.

Miller scored and was fouled on a tough drive with 47.7 seconds left to give the Falcons a 63-57 advantage. Moten s two free throws with 8.9 seconds to go put the game away.

The Rams Jio Fontan led all players with 20 points.

BGSU senior guard Darryl Clements stormed off the bench and into the locker room shortly after he was removed from the game in the second half. He threw his jersey before exiting and did not return.

Afterwards, Falcons coach Louis Orr said of Clements disappearance: "It wasn't Darryl being disciplined or anything. It was an emotional time at that point. D is a good, young man and our captain and we're a family. We'll work things out."
