2 players leave BGSU women's basketball team

Two Bowling Green State University women s basketball players will not return next season. Niki McCoy, a Sylvania Northview graduate, and Victoria McGowan have left the program.

McCoy has chosen to leave the program after being informed that her scholarship would not be renewed for the 2009-10 academic year. She was given the opportunity to remain on the roster as a non-scholarship player.

We are disappointed that Niki has elected not to play for us next season, but we wish her well as she works toward finishing her degree, BGSU coach Curt Miller said.

McGowan has elected to leave the BGSU program, and plans to transfer to another institution.

I am actively helping Victoria search for a new opportunity as she seeks additional playing time, Miller said. We all wish her well in her future endeavors.
