Central Michigan rallies to upset BG women

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. — The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team scored only four points in the final five minutes and suffered a 67-65 loss to Central Michigan Wednesday night.

The Chippewas got a layup from Shonda Long with 27 seconds to play to take a 66-65 lead, with a free throw by Rachel Mauk making the score 67-65 with 16 seconds left. Tara Breske missed a 3-pointer at buzzer as the Falcons saw a nine-game win streak against Central Michigan come to an end.

Tracy Pontius led the Falcons (19-6, 9-2 MAC) with 16 points, while Breske had 11 points. Tamika Nurse scored 10 points and had eight assists.
