BG women clinch share of MAC title with victory over Kent

BOWLING GREEN - Bowling Green State University went on a 15-0 spurt midway through the opening half against Kent State en route to a 69-55 Mid-American Conference victory yesterday afternoon at Anderson Arena.

With the win over the Golden Flashes the five-time defending MAC regular season champions clinched at least a share of a sixth straight conference regular season championship.

BG senior guard Tamika Nurse scored a team-high 23 points while Lauren Prochaska added 12 points and 10 rebounds. Tracy Pontius added 10 points.

BG (23-6, 13-2 MAC) will have a chance at winning the MAC title outright when it plays at Miami on Tuesday.
