BOWLING GREEN - Three members of the Bowling Green State University women's basketball team were cited for underage under the influence on Wednesday, Sept. 8.

Allison Papenfuss, a sophomore and Anthony Wayne graduate, was cited along with sophomore Chrissy Steffen and freshman Jillian Halfhill at

1:24 a.m. near the corner of East Court and North Summit streets, according to police logs.

All three have pleaded not guilty and have pretrial hearings scheduled for early October.

A BGSU athletic department spokesman said the basketball staff and athletic administration both were aware of the situation, and that it would be handled internally.

Last season Papenfuss played in 30 of the Falcons' 34 games, all in a reserve role, and averaged 2.2 points and 1.9 rebounds per game. She set AW single-season and career records for scoring and rebounding while leading the Generals to Northern Lakes League titles as a sophomore and junior.

Steffen of Carmel, Ind., played in 31 games off the bench for BG and averaged 3.3 points and 1.9 rebounds.

Halfhill averaged 16.7 points, 5.2 assists and 3.1 steals last year for Canfield High School.
