Everyone on the Bowling Green football team is saying all the right things heading into Saturday's game at Michigan.

Coaches and players alike called Michigan a “great and historic program” and said they have a “special opportunity” if the Falcons could pull off the upset and blah blah blah.

Good idea, not to rile up the Wolverines before the contest.

But the most interesting comments came from BG coach Dave Clawson when he was asked about last year's game at Missouri.

“Last year I don't know if our guys truly believed they could win that game,” he admitted. “We didn't play well early. We missed some opportunities early that, if we would have capitalized on, maybe we would have had a 21-point lead instead of a 14-point lead.”

For those who may have forgotten, last year the Falcons led 20-6 early in the third quarter, only to see Mizzou score the final 21 points to claim the victory.

Can BG win? It's possible.

The more important question is: What do the Falcons have to do to win? There are several things, most notably contain QB Denard Robinson (quite a challenge) and get a consistent, ball-controlling performance from an offense that will be without starting QB Matt Schilz. But there's one thing the Falcons must do to pull off the upset. BG's players have to believe it is possible.
