BOWLING GREEN – The Bowling Green State University football team suffered a 28-26 Homecoming loss to Buffalo at Perry Stadium Saturday.

The Falcons scored 13 straight points in the fourth quarter to erase nearly all of a 28-13 lead by the Bulls, but Bryan Wright's potential game-winning 40-yard field goal sailed wide right as time expired.

BG's fourth-quarter comeback was fueled by an 82-yard interception return for a touchdown by Robert Lorenzi – one of two picks the senior had in the contest – and a 48-yard score on a screen pass from Aaron Pankratz to Willie Geter.

The game was a mistake-filled effort that featured 11 turnovers. The Falcons intercepted four passes and also covered two Bulls fumbles, but BG also was guilty of three interceptions and two fumbles lost.

Bowling Green fell to 1-4 while Buffalo improved to 2-3 in the Mid-American Conference opener for both schools.
