MILWAUKEE — The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team struggled with its shooting and suffered a 70-69 loss to Wisconsin-Milwaukee Saturday night.

The Falcons' shooting problems came at the foul line, though, as BG made just 6-of-15 free throws to fall to 2-9.

The Panthers made 20-of-29 (71.4 percent) to improve to 6-7.

Scott Thomas came off the bench to post a double-double for BG, finishing with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Cameron Black had 10 points and seven boards.

Tone Boyle had 22 points for Wisconsin-Milwaukee while Tony Meier had 20.

Things didn't start well for BG, which missed its first seven shots and fell behind 10-0 before Thomas made a free throw with 14:09 left in the first half.

But a 3-pointer by Thomas at the 9:53 mark tied the score at 15-15, and Black's bucket at the buzzer gave the Falcons at 36-35 halftime lead.

BG used a 7-1 run to start the second half to expand its lead, and the Falcons still lead 61-54 with 6:51 left.

But Boyle hit a pair of 3-pointers in a two-minute span as the Panthers took a 62-61 lead.

And Boyle hit a third 3-pointers with 2:52 left that gave Wisconsin-Milwaukee the lead for good. The Falcons saw several potential game-tying shots in the final minute rim out.
