BG men fall to Central Michigan

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. – The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team couldn't keep up a hot-shooting performance in the first half and dropped a 69-64 decision at Central Michigan Saturday night.

The Falcons made 66.7 percent of their shots in the first period to build a 37-31 lead at halftime, but made just 32.1 percent in the second half and were outscored 38-27.

Dee Brown finished with 20 points to lead Bowling Green, which fell to 12-13 overall and 7-4 in the Mid-American Conference. A'uston Calhoun scored 15 points, Joe Jakubowski 12 and Scott Thomas had eight points and nine rebounds for the Falcons.

Freshman Trey Zeigler scored 18 points to lead Central Michigan (7-17, 4-7), while Jalin Thomas and Derek Jackson each had 17.

The Falcons return home Tuesday to host Akron at Anderson Arena in a game that will tip off at 7 p.m.
