BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University was picked to finish last in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association preseason polls of the league’s coaches and media.

The CCHA coaches awarded the Falcons just 22 points — just two more than the minimum — in their poll, putting BG eight points behind 10th-place Lake Superior in the 11-team league. The Falcons finished with 170 points in the polling of 72 media, 128 behind the Lakers in 10th place.

“I told [our players], ‘I hope that it bothers them as much as it bothers me,’” BG coach Chris Bergeron said. “Now we have a chance to go out and do something about that.”

Notre Dame was picked in both polls to win the title.

Bowling Green will have an exhibition game against Ontario Institute of Technology at the BG Ice Arena at 4:05 p.m. Sunday. There will be no admission charge.
