The women's basketball teams from the University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University each had three players named to the All-Mid-American Conference team, while UT's Andola Dortch and BG's Curt Miller each received special awards in voting announced Tuesday.

Dortch was named the MAC's defensive player of the year in a vote of the coaches, while Miller was chosen as the coach of the year in a vote of league media.

The All-MAC team included the Falcons' Alexis Rogers on the first team, while her teammates Jessica Slagle and Chrissy Steffen each were selected to the second team. Toledo's Dortch and Yolanda Richardson, a Start High School grad, also were picked for the second team, while teammate Courtney Ingersoll was named to the third team.

Bowling Green's Jasmine Matthews was one of five players named to the MAC's all-freshman team.

The league's other major post-season awards saw Eastern Michigan's Tavelyn James named player of the year, Clarie Jakubicek of Northern Illinois chosen as freshman of the year, and Jalisa Olive of Central Michigan picked as the sixth player of the year.
