BOWLING GREEN -- Erica Donovan, a former Toledoan who played basketball for one season at Notre Dame Academy before moving to Texas, will transfer from North Carolina State to join the Falcons, coach Jennifer Roos announced Monday.

Donovan will sit out the 2012-13 season per NCAA regulations and will retain three seasons of eligibility.

Donovan is a 5-11 guard who played in all 35 games off the bench for N.C. State in 2011-12, her lone season with the Wolfpack. She averaged 4.9 points and 2.5 rebounds per game, playing 14.8 minutes per contest.

Donovan is a graduate of John Jay H.S. in Northside, Texas, who was a 2011 Texas McDonald’s All-American as well as a McDonald’s All-America Nominee. She averaged 20.5 points, 15.5 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 4.2 steals per game in her senior year, helping the Mustangs to a 31-6 overall record.
