Falcons' Jones named defensive player of the week again

BOWLING GREEN -- For the second week in a row, Bowling Green State University senior defensive tackle Chris Jones was named Mid-American Conference defensive player of the week, the league announced today.

Jones, a native of Brownsburg, Ind., had four tackles, including a pair of sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss, in the Falcons’ 27-15 loss at Toledo Saturday. He also added a forced fumble as the Falcons held Toledo to just 130 yards on the ground, 50 yards below their season average.

On the season Jones has 11 tackles in three games, including six tackles for loss resulting in 30 yards in losses. He also has 3.5 quarterback sacks that have accounted for 22 yards in losses.
