BGSU notches win at Akron

AKRON -- The Bowling Green State University football team used a dominating second half to claim a 24-10 victory over Akron today at InfoCision Stadium.

The Falcons (3-3, 1-1 Mid-American Conference) rolled to 323 yards of total offense in the second half after netting just 150 yards in the first half. Tight end Alex Bayer caught a pair of touchdown passes from Matt Schilz, one covering 60 yards with 2 minutes, 33 seconds left in the third quarter and one for 12 yards with 6:48 left in the game.

BG also got a 4-yard TD run by Anthon Samuel, who finished with 117 yards on 15 carries.

The Falcons also got a 26-yard field goal by Stephen Stein with 6:17 to play in the third as BG came back from a 10-0 halftime deficit.

Akron (1-5, 0-2 MAC) got a 17-yard TD pass from Tyrell Goodman with 9:47 left in the second quarter and a 46-yard field goal by Robert Stein on the final play of the first half.
