    FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The Bowling Green State University football team claimed a 24-0 victory over the University of Massachusetts at Gillette Stadium today.

    The Falcon defense was impressive, limiting the Minutemen to just 118 yards of total offense while picking off four passes, including one returned 48 yards for a touchdown by Dwayne Woods.

    Woods' pick-six was one of two TDs BG scored in a 51-second span of the third quarter. The other came on a 2-yard TD pass from Matt Schilz to Alex Bayer.

    Bowling Green, which won its fourth straight to improve to 5-3 overall and 3-1 in the Mid-American Conference, scored in the first period on a 16-yard pass from Schilz to Shaun Joplin.

    The Falcons' final points came on a 42-yard field goal by Tyler Tate with 10:11 to play in the final quarter.

    UMass now is 0-7 overall and 0-4 in the MAC.
