BOWLING GREEN --- The University of Toledo women's basketball team beat Bowling Green State University 48-38 Sunday at Stroh Center.
Naama Shafir banked-in a 3-pointer with 1 minute, 56 seconds remaining as the shot clock expired, lifting the Rockets (13-2, 1-1) to a six-point lead. Shafir scored a game-high 23 points.
BG (10-5, 1-1), which shot just 22 percent from the field, was led by Jillian Halfhill's 13 points.
Toledo won the rebounding battle 47-32 but shot just 33 percent from the field.
