BGSU nets 22 verbal commitments on National Signing Day

BOWLING GREEN -- The Bowling Green State University football received all 22 verbal commitments it expected well before noon today, completing a class that is ranked tops in the Mid-American Conference by both ESPN.com and 247sports.com

The group includes a pair of local athletes, Southview quarterback Austin Valdez and Findlay punter Joseph Davidson.

Bowling Green's group of signees include four running backs and four wide receivers, three players at four positions -- offensive line, linebackers, defensive linemen and defensive backs -- two tight ends, one quarterback and one punter.

Of the 24 players BG has signed, 21 were team captains.
