3 goals scored by 3 players not enough for Bowling Green hockey in 4-3 loss to Ferris State

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. — Bowling Green suffered a 4-3 loss Saturday to Ferris State in a Central Collegiate Hockey Association game.

After the Falcons scored twice in a 35-second period to tie the game at 3 midway through the second period, Garett Thompson scored at 16:28 of the second period to give the Bulldogs the eventual game-winning goal.

Bowling Green (12-15-5, 9-11-3-1 CCHA) got goals from Adam Berkle in the first period. Brent Tate and Brett Mohler scored in the second.

Justin Buzzeo, Kyle Bonis, and Cory Kane also scored for Ferris State (15-13-4, 13-11-2-1).

Bowling Green goaltender Tommy Burke finished with 16 saves, while Ferris State’s C.J. Motte stopped 26 shots.
