BG women lead Kent State 44-16 at halftime

BOWLING GREEN -- The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team leads Kent State 44-16 at halftime at the Stroh Center today.

The contest is the Falcons' first-round game in the Mid-American Conference tournament, with the winner advancing to the second round Wednesday at Quicken Loans Arena.

Allison Papenfuss scored 11 points to lead BG, which also got eight from Jillian Halfhill, Chrissy Steffen and Alexis Rogers.

Three players -- Ashley Evans, Melanee Stubbs and Leslie Schaefer -- each scored four to lead the Golden Flashes.
