BOWLING GREEN – Bowling Green State University goaltender Andrew Hammond signed a two-year entry-level contract with the Ottawa Senators, the NHL team announced today.

Hammond will report to the Senators’ team in the American Hockey League, the Binghamton, N.Y., Senators.

A native of Surrey, B.C., Hammond posted a 10-15-3 record with a 2.47 goals-against average and .917 save percentage with the Falcons last season. For his career Hammond had a 2.84 goals-against average, the second-lowest in school history, and a 30-68-13 record in 111 games over four seasons.

Hammond was not drafted by an NHL club, although he attended the Chicago Blackhawks' prospect camp in the summer of 2012.
