BOWLING GREEN -- Bowling Green State University quarterback Matt Johnson was named Mid-American Conference East Division offensive player of the week, the league announced today.

In his first college start Johnson completed 19-of-25 passes for 357 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Falcons to a 41-22 win at Kent State. He led the Falcons to scores on six of the team's first seven possessions.

One of his TD passes was a 92-yard scoring strike to Ryan Burbrink, the third-longest pass in BG football history.

Johnson's 357 passing yards are the most by a MAC quarterback in a game this season, as are his 374 yards of total offense.
