BIG RAPIDS, Mich. — Two Ferris State goals in the final two minutes spoiled Bowling Green State University’s chance at topping the 14th-ranked Bulldogs, ending in a 3-3 tie.
The tie enabled Ferris (7-2-1 overall, 4-0-1 WCHA) to hold on to the lead in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association and stay unbeaten.
The Falcons (5-3-3, 3-1-1) scored three straight to take a 3-1 lead with less than five minutes remaining.
Connor Kucera scored five minutes into the final stanza to tie the game up at 1-all.
Cam Wojtala posted his third goal of the season with less than seven minutes remaining.
The lead then grew to two goals minutes later as Brent Tate scored on a deflection near the net for his fifth of the campaign.
Ferris tied the game with nine seconds left in the contest.
BG’s Tommy Burke stopped 28 shots in the stalemate.
