PUERTO AVENTURAS, Mexico — The Bowling Green State University men’s basketball team suffered a 63-56 loss to Oral Roberts today in the championship game of the Cancun Classic.

Anthony Henderson and Spencer Parker each finished with 12 points to lead BG (2-4), while Cameron Black had 10 points and 13 rebounds. Both Henderson and Black were named to the all-tournament team.

Oral Roberts (4-3) was led by Shawn Glover, the tournament MVP, who scored 25 points. Korey Billbury finished with 17 while Adrion Webber added 10.

BG rolled to a 21-2 finish to lead 35-26 at halftime, with Parker and Holmes combining for 16 of those points.

Parker had nine points in the run, while Holmes had seven.

The Falcons’ lead rose to double digits when Parker hit a pair of free throws to make the score 41-30 with 16:46 to play, only to see Oral Roberts chip away at their advantage over the next eight minutes.

Glover did much of the second-half damage, and his basket with 8:21 on the clock tied the score at 50-50.

D.J. Jackson hit a runner with less than three minutes to play to break a 52-52 tie, and the Falcons missed the front end of a 1-and-1 to hinder their chances as a comeback.

Georgia Southern defeated Presbyterian 76-66 in the consolation game of the tournament.

The Falcons return home to host Western Kentucky at the Stroh Center on Monday starting at 7 p.m.
