BGSU goaltender Sholl named rookie of the week

BOWLING GREEN -- Bowling Green State University freshman goaltender Tomas Sholl has been named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association rookie of the week, the league announced today.

The native of Hermosa Beach, Calif., backstopped the Falcons to a win over Roberts Morris in the Three Rivers Classic tournament in Pittsburgh Saturday.

Sholl turned aside 19 of 21 shots and held the Colonials scoreless before giving up a power-play goal and sixth-attacker goal late in the contest.

For the season Sholl is 3-7-0 with a 2.58 goals-against average and a 89.9 save percentage in 10 games.
