Mark Downey joins BGSU as men's basketball assistant coach

BOWLING GREEN — The Bowling Green State University men’s basketball program officially announced Monday that Mark Downey has joined the Falcons as an assistant coach.

Downey spent one year as head coach at West Alabama. He has also been a head coach at the University of Charleston, Arkansas Tech, and Independence Community College with a career record of 204-103. Downey joins David Ragland on the staff of new BG coach Chris Jans.

Downey served as an assistant to Jans at Independence CC in 1998-99.
