The Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic presented by Kroger is this week at Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania, so that's where you will find me. It's a great place to watch golf and get some exercise walking the beautiful course.

You'll also find plenty of friends and celebrities, including the tournament host, Jamie Farr.

And don't forget to see the fireworks - there are a lot of locations from which to choose and on a few different nights.

Many members of area yacht clubs will cruise downtown on the Maumee River for the The Blade's Red, White, KABOOM fireworks on Saturday.

Meanwhile, country clubs have festivities planned, capped off by fireworks displays that can be viewed from nearby neighborhoods.

Belmont, Perrysburg: tomorrow; along with a cookout and family festivities.

Terry Helbing, waitress Alyssa Morelock, Karen Johansen and Rosanne Babiuch, on the patio at Tangos Mexican Cantina patio in Toledo. They are life-long friends who meet about once a month for dinner.

Toledo, along the Maumee River: tomorrow; family games, a buffet.

Stone Oak, Holland: Friday; rides, food, open to the public.

Sylvania Country Club: Friday; food, fun.

Inverness Club on Dorr Street: Saturday; a daylong celebration.

Maybe I'll make the rounds after the Farr and see fireworks all three nights.

After all, this patriotic holiday is all about family, friends, and freedom. Enjoy!
