Deborah Barnett celebrated her 60th birthday by honoring her girlfriends and giving back to others. A party with the theme "Celebrating You, Girlfriend" was given by Ms. Barnett Sept. 24 at the American Family Activity Club.

In lieu of gifts she invited guests to bring a contribution to Susan G. Komen for the Cure in honor of her special friends Menthal Bowden, Carol Gwin, Nola Hunt, Constance Hudson, Gloria Pace King, Sheryl A. Riggs, and Dianne Virgil, who are breast cancer survivors.

THE Women's Council of Realtors held an upscale celebrity garage sale this summer at RE/MAX Preferred Associates for the Children's Miracle Network. Refreshments donated by Seagate Inspections were served. Entertainment was provided by members of the PAC Jam Band, including Vince Lyons, Eddie Campos, Johnny "O," Rick Wolkins, and Doug Kwiatkowski plus Jeff Stewart of the Flex Band. Helping out were chairmen Judy Gorun, president of the Toledo chapter, and Arlene Gerig, past president, both of Remax Preferred.

The event raised $2,556.00 for Children's Miracle Network. The next WCR event is Coats for Kids Holiday Gala at the Toledo Club on Nov. 19. Details are available at wcrtoledo.com.
