Kacey Gallop, the National American Miss Junior Teen Ohio 2010, is a midel for giving to others.

The sophomore at Notre Dame Academy celebrated her 16th birthday at the Toledo Club on Sept. 25. Miss Gallop, the daughter of Shannon and Bill Gallop of Perrysburg, invited her guests todonate to the Toledo Northwestern Ohio Foo Bank in lieu of giving her gifts.

By the end of the evening, the giant ice sculpted collection box was filled with $1,000.

In addition, the extra purple and silver balloons for decor were taken by her family the next day to the Toledo Children's Hospital for patients to enjoy. Kasey, in her sparkling crown and banner, handed out the balloons and visited with the children.

Miss Gallop won the Miss Junior Teen Ohio title in August in Columbus. Nationals are in Anaheim, Calif., in November.

She was chosen out of 199 girls from all over Ohio who competed for the title.

And it was not surprising that she also won Miss Congeniality and placed first in casual wear competition.
