Of course, more than just baseball has been on the social agenda.

The fourth annual Serve Up an Ace fund-raiser, sponsored by Gallon, Takacs, Boissoneault & Schaffer, was last month at Laurel Hill Swim and Tennis Club.

Included was tennis for all levels, a silent auction, astrology by Janet Amid, a photo booth, door prizes, and raffles.

This event won the USTA/Midwest Fund-Raiser of the Year award in 2010. The $20,000 netted goes to the Elizabeth A. Zepf Foundation, which supports the Zepf Center, a nonprofit organization for behavioral health and vocational services to those with severe mental illness in Lucas County.
