Of course, more than just baseball has been on the social agenda.
The fourth annual Serve Up an Ace fund-raiser, sponsored by Gallon, Takacs, Boissoneault & Schaffer, was last month at Laurel Hill Swim and Tennis Club.
Included was tennis for all levels, a silent auction, astrology by Janet Amid, a photo booth, door prizes, and raffles.
This event won the USTA/Midwest Fund-Raiser of the Year award in 2010. The $20,000 netted goes to the Elizabeth A. Zepf Foundation, which supports the Zepf Center, a nonprofit organization for behavioral health and vocational services to those with severe mental illness in Lucas County.
Seeking sunshine
Members of the Ottawa River Yacht Club had a jump start on warm weather since they recently vacationed in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Included on the trip were Nora and Craig Sanford, Linda and Roy Samons, Bill and Debi Jankowski and Peggy and John Strick.
