Fun flows at Dance Uncorked and Keep Them Dancing

Catholic Charities presented Dance Uncorked Oct. 15 at Central Catholic High School in the Sullivan Center. Guests chatted as they tasted wines and dined. Then the show started with local celebrities paired with professional instructors from OnStage Studio.

Sister Dorothy Thum, of Mercy Health Partners, danced with Bill Armaline; Diane Ohns, of KeyBank, danced with Paul Long; Jake Holmes, of Holmes Financial Partners, danced with Shannon Lindsay; Father Kent Kaufman, of All Saints Parish, teamed up with Ann Hymel, Valerie Bluhm, and Kim Schumaker; Larry Boyer, of Waterford Bank, danced with Kathy Farber. Lynn Anderson, community supporter, danced with Domonique Glovers and Brady Vallade and was the winner of the friendly competition.

The more than $30,000 that was raised helps area people in need with food, shelter, disaster relief, emergency assistance, and more. Honorary chairmen were Sam and Kelly Zyndorf, who were celebrating their 23rd wedding anniversary that night.

Event chairmen were Dody Hamilton and Terri Payak. They were assisted by Cheryl Schroeder, Karen Szymanski, Cindy Holmes, Nichole Schroeder, Ken Mackowiak, Pat Halicek, Jessica Prchlik, Darrah Nowak, and Rodney Schuster.

Among the more than 300 attendees were Bishop Leonard Blair, Joe Pinciotti, Sue and Kevin Kenney, Colleen Kookoothe, Sara Best, Bill and Shannon Sanford, Carolyn Newell Turner, Marianne Ballas, Mary Beth Schoen.

The Toledo Ballet's Keep Them Dancing fund-raiser was Oct. 15 at Inverness Club. Ballerinas greeted everyone at the door.

Board chairman Rob Koenig welcomed everyone. The ballet will present the Nutcracker with the Toledo Symphony Dec. 10 and 11 at the Stranahan Theater.

Musical entertainment included the Toledo School for the Arts Jazz Quartet during cocktails, Quartet Bernadette Trio for dancing, and Heidi Clausius on the piano during dinner.

Thanks go to sponsors including Medical Mutual, KeyBank, Meijer, and WRVF-FM 101.5 The River, and the 130 guests that included Marie Vogt, artistic director emerita of the Toledo Ballet.

The event raised more than $15,000.
