The Bash 2, a pure science, pure fun, pure party was Oct. 15 at Imagination Station for the science museum.

The science of mixology -- from Sweet Science to the signature Molecular Martini -- was part of the fun with celebrity mixologists including Toledo Mayor Mike Bell, Steve Herwat, Dennis Hopson, Desmond Marrow, Dean Moske, Lissa Guyton, and Fire Chief Luis Santiago. Emcees for the night were Tom Cole and Rick Woodell.

The event raised about $60,000, thanks to the 40-some sponsors that included presenting sponsors The Andersons and KeyBank.

The committee included Mike Beasley, Scott Chaudoir, Emily Ford, Tracy Hambro, Lesa James, Dorothy Kuhl, Tara Linker, Molly Luetke Datson, Beth Mooney, Sara Moynihan, Tina Skeldon Wozniak, and Adrienne Walch.

The 17th Annual Danberry Treasure Chest Charity Dinner Auction was Oct. 13 at the Hilton, Levis Commons.

The amount raised is approaching $60,000. The proceeds benefit the Autism Collaborative, Kids in Motion-The YMCA/JCC, and the Danberry Treasure Chest emergency fund at Toledo Children's Hospital for families struggling with finances while their child struggles with a serious illness. So far this year nearly $65,000 has helped 57 families.

Event chairman Lynn Fruth said the affair attended by 285 people was a team-building effort to raise money for charity. Committee chairmen included Debbie Milnar, Danielle Powers, Dick Baker, Carol Dimas, Vicky Pelchat, Darla Fry, Melissa Glaze, Dianna Snyder, Debbie Gillespie, Den Hornstein, Caitlin King, Donna Bachmeyer, and Molly Long.
