POLLYBALL, named for Polly Hylant Tracy, who died of breast cancer in 1991, was Aug. 24 at the beach at International Park overlooking the Maumee River.

Fifty-three teams participated on the beautiful summer day. Others came to watch and enjoy the menu from Phil Barone of Rosie's Italian. Geoff Tracy, husband of the late Mrs. Tracy, was there along with many of Mrs. Tracy's siblings and friends.

Capturing first place was Goldtech; second place went to the Zepf Center, and third place to Hickory Farms. Richard Hylant's team, which inwcluded his children Andrea and Jack, was HY-5. The event netted around $65,000, which brings the total for the event's 22 years to $1.1 million.

The proceeds support the YWCA's EncorePlus program, a breast cancer education and awareness program promoting early detection and mammography. At least 650 women received mammograms through the program in 2012. It also provides free intensive case management services to women with abnormal breast symptoms and/or breast cancer diagnosis, regardless of income or any other circumstances.
