Best-selling writer Jeannette Walls, author of The Glass Castle, is to speak today in Toledo at Neighborhood Properties Inc.'s Celebrating Recovery dinner.

Ms. Walls' memoir has been a best-seller for more than three years and sold millions of copies in the United States.

The book tells the tale of Ms. Walls' upbringing, which while loving, was at times chaotic and dysfunctional.

Neighborhood Properties' mission is ending homelessness for people with mental illness. NPI owns 550 apartments at 60 sites throughout the area.

The 6 p.m. event at the Toledo Hilton on Glendale Avenue is to also feature two NPI clients sharing their success stories. About 250 people are expected to attend.
