College football roundup: Soliday sparks Ohio Northern

ADA, Ohio - Ohio Northern quarterback Jeff Soliday accounted for four consecutive touchdowns in the second and third quarters as the Polar Bears beat Otterbein 36-22 yesterday.

Soliday threw a 50-yard touchdown pass to Jace Metzner and a 4-yard touchdown pass to John Odenweller in the second quarter to give the Polar Bears (3-2, 2-1 Ohio Athletic Conference) a 22-7 halftime lead. Then, he ran for touchdowns of 10 and 8 yards 1:52 apart in the third quarter.

Soliday finished 16-of-29 passing for 239 yards and three interceptions.

BLUFFTON 45, MOUNT ST. JOSEPH 7

CINCINNATI - Brad Moore passed for three touchdowns and ran for another to lead Bluffton.

Bluffton (2-3, 1-1 Heartland Conference) had 22 first downs and 442 total yards to eight first downs and 183 yards for Mount St. Joseph (0-6, 0-2).

ASHLAND 24, HILLSDALE 10

ASHLAND, Ohio - Marcus Mitchell rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns in the second half to lead

Mitch Shuman scored on a 6-yard run in the first quarter to give Hillsdale (3-3, 3-2) a 7-0 lead.

Hillsdale quarterback Bill Skelton was 18-of-31 passing for 161 yards and one interception.

Hillsdale defensive back C.J. Kreger had 20 tackles - nine solo - and broke up a pass.

INDIANAPOLIS 26, FINDLAY 8

INDIANAPOLIS - Kevin Nicolini ran for one touchdown and passed for another TD to lead Indianapolis

A 10-yard TD run by Chris Daniels pulled the Oilers (1-5, 1-4) within 19-8 with four minutes to go.

BALDWIN-WALLACE 13, HEIDELBERG 0

BEREA, Ohio - Dan Larlham threw for 217 yards and a touchdown and Kevin Hilley kicked two field goals late in the first half.

Larlham was 16-of-33 passing and also ran for 55 yards on 10 carries for Baldwin-Wallace (3-2, 2-2 Ohio Athletic Conference) Kyle Obendorf carried 33 times for 171 yards.

John Sharp was 15-of-26 passing for Heidelberg (1-4, 1-3) for 128 yards and four interceptions. Heidelberg was limited to 165 yards in offense.

ST. FRANCIS 20, TIFFIN 14

TIFFIN, Ohio - An 8-yard touchdown pass from Jeremy Hibbeln to Matt Luke broke a tie with 11 minutes remaining.

Hibbeln completed 15 of 33 passes for 258 yards and had three touchdowns for St. Francis (6-0, 2-0 Mid-States Football Association). He was intercepted five times.

Joe Perchinski completed 17 of 34 for 229 yards and two first-half touchdowns for Tiffin (1-5, 1-1 MEL). He threw three interceptions.

WISCONSIN LUTHERAN 33, ADRIAN 29

MILWAUKEE - Jason Lemke completed a 23-yard touchdown pass to Paul Nelson with one minute remaining to give Wisconsin Lutheran (1-4) the victory.

Jason Desotell rushed for 255 yards on 37 carries for Adrian, setting a school record for yardage in a game. Desotell scored two touchdowns for the Bulldogs (0-5).

DEFIANCE 33, HANOVER 13

HANOVER, Ind. - Defiance's Mike Moran rushed for 163 yards and one touchdown.

Moran had a 35-yard touchdown run in the second quarter for Defiance (5-0, 1-0 Heartland Collegiate), after Kevin Kelley connected on an 8-yard pass to Adam Owens in the first quarter.

Defiance led Hanover (1-4, 0-1) 16-6 at the half.

Patrick Weber scored for Defiance on 3 and 5-yard runs in the fourth quarter.
