Boston College rallies to edge BG

MINNEAPOLIS - Boston College scored four goals in the third period to slip past Bowling Green State University 6-5 last night in the Dodge Holiday Classic.

The Falcons (3-11-1) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period on goals by Mark Wires, Tyler Knight and D'Arcy McConvey.

Boston (10-3-3) tallied two in the second period.

McConvey tallied again for BG just 22 seconds into the third for a 4-2 lead before Boston's John Adams responded 44 seconds later.

The Falcons then took a 5-3 lead on Steve Brodzewski midway through the period.

But the Eagles scored the final three to take the win. Ryan Murphy led BC with two goals.

BG's Jordan Sigalet made 37 saves. Boston's Tim Kelleher made 8 and Matti Kaltiainen had 27.

BG plays Yale tonight in the consolation game.
