• Last game: BG lost at Toledo 58-50; Kent State d. Akron 57-54.

• Outlook: The last two times that these teams met at Kent

State s MAC Center, the one that built a big lead early was caught, passed and beaten.

Bowling Green has lost three of its last four games, and has

dropped four straight and 10 of its last 11 against the Golden

Flashes. Kent State has won three in a row . The Falcons must slow down guard DeAndre Haynes, who scored 59 points and dished out 15 assists in three wins over BG last season.

• Records: NIU is 9-12, 5-8 MAC; UT is 11-10, 7-5 .

• Last game: NIU defeated Central Michigan 65-46; UT defeated Bowling Green 58-50.

• Outlook: The Rockets have won four of their last fi ve and

suddenly fi nd themselves in MAC West title contention.

UT hopes to build off win over BG, which featured one of the

team s best defensive outings of the season and included a

big scoring punch off the bench.

Rockets are 7-1 at home. The Huskies are seeking their fi rst

MAC road win of the season and are 3-21 all-time at Savage Hall.

NIU will make its bid behind a 3-point attack that ranks No. 1 in the MAC (41.1 percent).

• Records: BG is 15-6, 8-2 MAC; Akron is 3-19, 3-8.

• Last game: BG d. Ball State 69-49; Akron lost to Miami 70-56.

• Outlook: BG has won three straight by 20 points or more

and has claimed wins in six of its last seven to march to the top of the MAC West standings.

The Zips, meanwhile, have lost three straight, are next to last in the MAC East, and have won just two of their previous 34 meetings with the Falcons.

Bowling Green has won three straight games, allowing opponents

to shoot just 29.5 percent from the floor and forcing more

than 22 turnovers a game.

• Records: Ohio is 9-12, 5-5 MAC; Toledo is 10-11, 6-4.

• Last game: Ohio lost to Marshall 72-63. UT defeated Central

Michigan 65-51.

• Outlook: The Rocket women own an 18-6 all-time record at

home against Ohio and go into tonight s game having won 14

straight against the Bobcats at Savage Hall. But the Bobcats

put up a spirited fi ght in the opening round of last season s

MAC tournament, losing by just 68-65 at UT . Danielle Bishop

was the difference that night for the Rockets, scoring 17 points,

and she fi gures to be again.

Bishop enters as the third most prolific 3-point scorer in the

MAC and also ranks in the top 15 in five other categories.
