McCoy boosts Akron

Niki McCoy, a sophomore who graduated from Northview High School, led the

University of Akron to its fifth consecutive win by scoring a season-high 21 points in a

71-54 win over St. Francis on Dec. 19. McCoy was the Zips offense in the first half

with 15 of the team s 27 points as Akron held a 27-22 lead at the break.

She was 8-for-8 at the free throw line and 6-of-15 from the field.
