CLEVELAND Bowling Green coach Dan Dakich was reprimanded by the Mid-American Conference and the university s athletic director today for his comments following his team s 98-90 overtime loss to Buffalo on Tuesday.

Conference Commissioner Rick Chryst said a review showed officials acted properly when they called a technical foul on Bowling Green for delay of game after the players left the court before the game was over. Buffalo sank both technical free throws and rallied to win in overtime after the Falcons thought they had secured a 77-75 victory.

After the game, Dakich made profanity-laced comments about the officiating, saying the team was cheated. Conference policies prohibit public comments that are unduly critical of game officials, the MAC said.

My comments regarding the officials and their integrity during my postgame press conference were inappropriate and have no place in intercollegiate athletics and for that I apologize, Dakich said in a statement.
