St. Francis grad is MAC player of the week

Jim Laney of Western Michigan, a senior punter, was named a Mid-American Conference special teams player of the week.

The St. Francis graduate had five punts for 201 yards (40.2 average) in a 16-3 win over Temple.

He tied WMU's single-season mark for punting average (43.9).
