Mount Union senior running back Nate Kmic, a Delta High product, has been named an All-American by the American Football Coaches Association.

The AFCA has selected an All-America team since 1945 and currently selects teams in all five of its divisions.

Last week, Kmic rushed for 310 yards against Wheaton (Ill.) to become college football s all-time leading rusher with 7,986 yards. He also holds all-division records for most career touchdowns (129) and points (774).

He saved his best for his senior year as he has run for an NCAA Division III record 2,702 yards this season with 42 touchdowns as he led the Purple Raiders to an Ohio Athletic Conference title and a fourth consecutive appearance in the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl Saturday morning against UW-Whitewater.
