Owens standout signs with Dallas

Former Owens Community College standout Sean Bucknor has signed a contract with FC Dallas, a Major League Soccer team.

Bucknor became the first Owens men's soccer player to earn All-American recognition, receiving the honor in 2006 and 2007. He broke several school career records, including most goals (56) and points (123).

As a sophomore, he was fourth in the country in points with 64.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y.,

Bucknor was a member of the Jamaica under-17 national team and graduated from Cornwall College in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

Bucknor was a two-time Ohio Community College Athletic Association player of the year and offensive player of the year and twice earned NJCAA regional first-team honors.

"I am very proud and excited that Sean has an opportunity to compete at the professional level," Owens coach Art Johnson said. "He is extremely athletic and a talented goal scorer. I expect him to make a very smooth transition to the MLS."

CARSON, Calif. - David Beckham is coming back to the Los Angeles Galaxy.

The English midfielder will return to the MLS team next month as scheduled after his loan agreement with AC Milan ends.

Tim Leiweke, president of Galaxy parent AEG, said the Italian club didn't make a second offer to the Galaxy to keep Beckham so the team will adhere to MLS commissioner Don Garber's deadline to resolve the situation.

The Galaxy had already rejected Milan's first offer.

Leiweke said he had not spoken directly to Beckham, but that he informed the player's representatives the loan would not be made permanent.
