Texas A&M won the men's golf national championship at Inverness Club on Saturday over Arkansas, with the deciding match coming down to the final hole.

The Aggies won three matches to two to capture their first national title. In the last match, a battle of the team's No. 1 players, A&M's Bronson Burgoon defeated Andrew Landry 1-up.

Burgoon led 4-up with five holes to play but Landry rallied to win the next four holes. On the 18th hole, Burgoon's tee shot went into the rough. He then shook off all his struggles and hit a gap wedge to within three inches of the hole.

Landry's 40-foot putt was wide left, handing the match, and the championship, to the Aggies.

I first felt relief, and then happiness, Burgoon said. I love the team. I wanted to bring it home for them.
