UT's Opelt, BGSU's Phillips garner MAC awards

University of Toledo quarterback Aaron Opelt was named the MAC West offensive player of the week Monday for the second week in a row.

Opelt, a senior, completed 15 of 23 passes for 319 yards and tied a personal best with four touchdown passes in the Rockets' 54-38 win over Colorado at the Glass Bowl on Friday.

Bowling Green kicker Jerry Phillips was named the MAC East special teams player of the week. Phillips kicked two field goals and two PATs in the Falcons' 27-20 loss at Missouri on Saturday.
