BOWLING GREEN – Ohio University outlasted Bowling Green State University, leaving town with a 44-37 victory punctuated with big plays and plenty of scoring Saturday at Doyt Perry Stadium.

The Bobcats produced 428 total yards while the Falcons accounted for 474 in the Mid-American Conference clash.

Ohio quarterback Theo Scott completed 11 of 19 passes for 203 yards, including two touchdowns, and he rushed for 82 yards on four carries, including one touchdown run for Ohio (3-2, 1-0) to spoil the Falcons' homecoming.

Ohio's Chris Garrett rushed 16 times for 120 yards, including a pair of TDs to help the Bobcats' cause.

BG quarterback Tyler Sheehan completed 28 of 51 attempts for a career-best 390 yards, including two touchdowns.

The Falcons (1-4, 0-1) fell behind 20-6 in the first half before attempting a second-half comeback.

However, the Falcons failed in the final minutes to tie the score.

Inside the Bobcats' 20, Sheehan attempted a pass to Freddie Barnes on a fourth-and-two play, which bounced out of Barnes' hands before eventually falling incomplete in the end zone.

The Bobcats took over on downs and ran out the clock to deliver BG a fourth straight loss after an opening season with a win.
