UT's Richardson, BGSU's Rogers named MAC players of week

Yolanda Richardson of Toledo and Alexis Rogers of Bowling Green both were named Mid-American Conference players of the week for women's basketball for the second straight week. Richardson was named MAC West Division player of the week and Rogers earned the same honor for the East Division.

Richardson, a Start High School graduate, led the Rockets to a pair of victories by averaging 19.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. Richardson, who made 85.7 percent (18-of-21) of her shots from the field last week, had a season-high 20 points, three rebounds and three blocked shots versus Ball State on Thursday, then had 18 points along with seasons-best in rebounds (15) and blocks (6) at Ohio Sunday.

Rogers averaged a double‐double last week, posting 23.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game, in wins over Miami and Eastern Michigan. She collected her fourth double‐double in five games with 16 points and 11 rebounds against the RedHawks, then had a career‐high 30 points as well as nine rebounds in Sunday's win over Eastern Michigan.
