Former BGSU coach cites personal health and family reasons

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Curt Miller, who coached women's basketball at Bowling Green State University for 11 seasons, has resigned as Indiana's women's basketball coach due to personal health and family reasons.

Indiana announced Miller's resignation this morning, and a school release said he will retain his position through the end of the month.

"Curt Miller did an incredible job coaching this team, bringing us farther, faster than anyone could have reasonably expected," Indiana athletic director Fred Glass said in a statement. "He leaves the program in a very strong position and poised for much greater success. I respect his decision to resign, and I wish him well. The search for a permanent successor has already begun."

Miller left Bowling Green for Indiana in March 2012. He compiled a 258-92 overall record at BGSU, which included a 135-41 mark in Mid-American Conference play. BGSU won eight straight MAC division titles under Miller.

Miller has a career coaching record of 290-124 and was 32-32 in two seasons at Indiana.

Curtis Loyd, Indiana's associate head coach, will serve as the Hoosiers interim head coach.
