ANN ARBOR — It’s no secret that Michigan’s offense is in need of a major spark.

Every aspect, from the quarterback to the offensive line to the wide receivers to the coaches, has been suspect for large portions of the season. Looking for anything to create momentum, Michigan has moved Drake Harris back to wide receiver.

The junior moved to cornerback in the spring after the defense lost its entire secondary to graduation. He’s played in only one game.

“Yes, yes. We moved him back to offense at receiver,” Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh said on the Big Ten coaches teleconference.

Harris, at 6-foot-4 and 188 pounds, gives quarterback John O’Korn a sizeable talent with speed and athleticism to match. The injury to freshman receiver Tarik Black has stunted the growth at skill positions. Grant Perry is the only healthy wide receiver with more than 100 yards receiving — for the season.

It’s an issue Harbaugh’s harped on in recent weeks. Tight ends Sean McKeon and Zach Gentry have been O’Korn’s favorite targets, while the wide receivers languish.
