Logan Woodside and Toledo topped Bowling Green 66-37 on Wednesday night.

Toledo beat its rival Bowling Green for the eighth time in a row in a 66-37 shootout on Wednesday nigh at Doyt Perry Stadium. Here are three takeaways from the game:

1) Toledo dominates run game: Toledo came out running early and often. Terry Swanson rushed for 192 yards, Shakif Seymour tied a school record with five TD runs, and Art Thompkins scored on an 88-yard run. A lot of the credit goes to the Toledo offensive line for dominating the line of scrimmage and creating open lanes for the running backs to run through. After a poor rushing performance at Ohio last week, the UT run game was as effective as ever against BG.

2) Logan Woodside was efficient: Woodside didn’t need to throw the ball a ton, but when he did, he was very effective. Woodside finished 13-of-18 passing for 232 yards and two touchdowns. He threw a 45-yard TD pass to Jon’Vea Johnson and a 41-yard pass to Diontae Johnson. Toledo leaned on its run game for most of the game, but Woodside took advantage when he was given a one-on-one matchup on the outside.

3) Toledo defense a mixed bag: The UT defense allowed just 121 rushing yards to Bowling Green and didn’t allow a 100-yard rusher. But they also allowed true freshman quarterback Jarret Doege to throw for 270 yards and four TDs. Toledo will have to be better in coverage moving forward.
