TIFFIN — A former employee of a Tiffin medical center was found guilty Wednesday of photographing young patients undressing for ultrasounds and other procedures.

Seneca County Common Pleas Judge Michael Kelbley, who heard the case in a bench trial last week, found Jamie Aguirre, 44, of Willard, Ohio, guilty of 12 counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material, a second-degree felony.

Aguirre, whose sentencing has not been scheduled, was an ultrasound technician at Advanced Medical Imaging on U.S. 224 in Tiffin when he was arrested in October, 2009, near Kent in northeast Ohio. A Brimfield Township police officer who had pulled him over for a routine traffic stop found the images on
Aguirre’s cell phone. He was immediately fired.

Seneca County Prosecutor Derek DeVine said his office pursued charges against Aguirre only for images of patients under 18 because those constituted felonies. Possessing images of adults would have been misdemeanors.
